2013 has proven to be a
significant year of innovation at WHR Group. Along with continued
updates to our internal state-of-the-art relocation system, we
have also rolled out two complimentary additions--Online
Expense Reimbursement and WHR's
Mobile App--in support of our clients' and
transferees' adapting needs and our "Go Green" initiative.
WHR has rolled out Online Expense
Reimbursement to all associated clients. This
application serves both clients and their employees, allowing all
expenses associated with an individual relocation to be submitted to
our proprietary relocation operating system. Once submitted, our
Counseling and Accounting teams work together in a multi-layered
approval process for reimbursement of applicable relocation policy
entitlements. Client access to Online Expense Reimbursement includes
an overview of each transferee's approved expenses, allowing full
transparency and oversight of what is being submitted and approved.
The system also records and saves all of the associated
documentation per reimbursement for later reference, audit purposes,
and electronic retention as opposed to paper.
The WHR
Mobile App places the ease and simplicity of our
relocation counseling services in the palms of our transferees'
hands. Features include contact information specific to the
transferee's counselor, agent, and appraisers; a calendar
of events for upcoming inspections, closing dates, and due dates for
important documentation; a summary of all benefits available to
the transferee, including updates on expense tracking; and even an
instant messaging option to quickly contact a counselor
when needed.
Our mobile app is free to
transferees in both Apple and Android platforms. Never has
relocation felt so simple.

Sales of Existing Homes Slump by Most in Three Years
By Lorraine Woellert, Bloomberg.com
Fewer
Americans than forecast signed contracts to buy previously owned
homes in September, the fourth straight month of declines, as rising
mortgage rates slowed momentum in the housing market.
The index of
pending home sales slumped 5.6 percent, exceeding all estimates in a
Bloomberg survey of economists and the biggest drop in more than
three years, after a 1.6 percent decrease in August, the National
Association of Realtors reported today in Washington. The index fell
to the lowest level this year.

8 Tips For Buying A Home This Holiday Season
By Chelsea Carter, Realty Times
With the holiday season quickly approaching, there are
many advantages to purchasing a home before the end of the year. With
less competition and the slower real estate season in full swing, now
could be the perfect time to move on the house of your dreams. Follow
these tips for buying your next home during the holidays without all
the stress.
1. Be Flexible.
With holidays come events and family traditions. This
means flexibility is more important than ever. Prepare to work around
the seller's holiday schedule. This may mean being flexible with the
dates of your contract. Remember, buying a home is a two way street
so the more flexible you are with the seller during the holidays the
closer you will get to purchasing their home.

New Google
algorithm Hummingbird: what it means for real estate and local search
By Chris Drayer, Inman News
For Realtors
and brokers in our industry, this is yet another change like Google's
Panda and Penguin updates. Hummingbird is an algorithm that you don't
need to download, turn on or buy. These updates and changes are worth
better understanding if you are considering or actively write content
about real estate or your community.
Simply put,
keywords in H1 titles and subject lines are becoming less important,
as Google tries to change its platform to support more long-tail
searches. (Read: monetize long-tail search advertising.) They are
minimizing the strength of the keyword, as they have more data to
refine search results. This is to say that Google wants to serve up
the best content still, but apply more mobile device-gleaned
context--and with Hummingbird they now look at verbal textual
analysis for clues as well.

Apple Sales Set to Show
Mobile Shift Lifting Tech
By Adam Satariano,
Bloomberg.com
Apple Inc. (AAPL) and Facebook
Inc. (FB) will report quarterly earnings this week that underscore
the technology industry's division into two camps: providers that are
adapting to shifting mobile and Web tastes, and those that have
lagged behind.
Apple later today is
predicted to report a rise in iPhone sales after last month's release
of new models, while Facebook follows on Oct. 30 with some analysts
projecting a bigger chunk of its revenue to come from mobile
advertising.
