A Word From Roger
I recently
authorized a client survey to gain an understanding of WHR's
performance and how clients perceive our service offerings.
Many of the evaluations are starting to come through, so I would like
to begin by thanking those clients that have taken the time to
provide valuable feedback.
Second, I
would also like to mention that some clients will also be receiving a
phone call from an outside consultant in order to dig a little deeper
into the survey results. My goal is to have a thorough and
objective analysis of where WHR is performing well and where we can
improve to insure WHR is always considered a valued partner.
I am pleased
by the initial results and the following are some specific comments:
"We always
feel WHR employees are doing everything they can to meet the needs of
our transferees and will consistently go above and beyond to get
things done."
"Service.
Caring and empathetic, yet pragmatic interaction with
transferees. Provides good value and doesn't over complicate a
service."
"Experts
in the industry; great customer service; great partnership"
"Reporting
has been transparent and easy to understand. Reports available
on the website are easy to access and provide useful data. Good
IT functionality."
"Need
to find a way to bring the info down a level so it can be
communicated to and understood by non-relo people (i.e.
finance)."
While the
vast majority of the comments are positive, the last comment provides
an opportunity for process improvement. How do we make our
reporting and information relevant and understandable to those that
may not know a BVO, DS provider, TEQ, or other nomenclature that
relocation professionals take for granted? This is something that
WHR will improve upon and make adjustments.
I am very
cognizant of the fact that simply being satisfied with the status quo
is not acceptable. I always tell prospects and clients that an
overriding goal of WHR is to be viewed as a strategic business
partner that consistently adds value and brings solutions to business
challenges. It is my hope that this survey will highlight all
of the things that WHR does well, but also provide areas in which we
can learn and grow.
Thanks again
to all of those clients that have provided this feedback.

Without Loan Giants, 30 Year Mortgage May Fade
Away
By: Binyamin Appelbaum
March 3, 2011
www.nytimes.com
WASHINGTON - How might home buying change if the
federal government shuts down the housing finance giants Fannie Mae
and Freddie Mac?
The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage loan, the steady
favorite of American borrowers since the 1950s, could become a luxury
product, housing experts on both sides of the political aisle say.

Moving,
no matter how big or small the job, often amounts to a huge hassle.
Add work to the mix and you've got a recipe for a potential disaster.
Whether it's changing apartments, houses, jobs - you
name it - it typically involves not only a lot of packing, but also
plenty of administrative-type tasks like changing your address,
rolling over your 401K, and contacting all of those pesky bill
collectors and credit-card companies to make sure they have your
updated information so they can continue draining your bank accounts.
When you're your own boss, moving your business can be just as
much of a headache. But if you're prepared, according to those who've
been there and done that, it can be more like a minor irritation
rather than a full-blown pain. Maybe a little exciting, too.

How Changes in Appraisal Industry Affects
Market, Consumers
By: Bob Karlovits
February 6, 2011

Change always is shrouded by fear of the unknown, but
professionals in home-buying are optimistic revisions in appraisals
will be more of a help than a hassle.
It might mean homebuyers will pay a little more to have
property viewed, but experts in the process as well as a member of a
consumer group see positive sides.
Tammy Thompson, from the home-ownership assistance
group NeighborWorks, sees it as a way of ending the "loan
malfunction" that has caused so much pain in the housing market.
