A Word From Roger
Little
did I know when I was developing WHR's operating platform
(CARICS) I was at the forefront of the technological
frontier. (Let me mention one disclaimer; I envisioned what I
wanted the system to encompass, but I was not the actual developer.)
While I can get around the workings of an iPhone and
navigate my email and computer quite well, I would speculate my
children know more when it comes to the latest technology.
However, one of the latest trends is the concept of "Cloud
Computing" which harnesses the power of the internet. This
structure allows software and information to be housed in a common
location but shared with other users and computers; good
examples of this are Search Engines, and companies such as
Microsoft, Apple, and many others.
While WHR is focused strictly on relocation, our operating platform is
available to all clients and transferees via a web browser. By
definition this system is a cloud in that all data, reports, and all
other information is stored and is easily accessible to our clients
via the internet. Users simply log into WHR's technology
tool and gain access to all information they desire about their
transferring employees.
When this application was developed, I felt it
was critical to have a system that would not only integrate all
of the internal operational needs of WHR, but would provide a live
tool for clients enabling them to access all information about their
relocation program and the employees being relocated. I wanted
our clients to have the same ability as our internal staff in looking
at data in real time with instant accessibility. Users can
simply log into the system provided they have a unique user ID and
password, and all of this data is available.
One additional and unique aspect to the tool is the integration of a
document repository. Every document in the relocation process
is digitally stored and recorded, so all records are available
electronically. This not only allows for immediate access to
data, but provides for a greener environment as the utilization of
paper based products has essentially been eliminated.
This system is truly state of the art in the relocation industry and
we would be happy to demonstrate its effectiveness to you and your
team. There is no special software to download, so access and
utilization are simple.
As always, we thank our clients for their continued
business and support as this is never taken for granted. Please
let me know how I can assist or help by emailing me at roger.thrun@whrg.com or
calling me directly at 262-523-7501.
Best
Regards,

U.S. MBA Mortgage Applications Index Increased
13% Last Week
By Courtney Schlisserman
August 18, 2010
www.businessweek.com
Aug. 18 (Bloomberg) -- The number of mortgage
applications in the U.S. increased last week, propelled by a surge in
refinancing as borrowing costs hovered near record lows.
The Mortgage Bankers Association's index rose 13 percent in the week
ended Aug. 13, the Washington-based group said today. Refinancing
jumped 17 percent to reach the highest level since May 2009, while
purchases fell 3.4 percent.
The drop in rates that is prompting Americans to lower
monthly payments, is doing little to spur sales as unemployment holds
close to a 26-year high. Federal Reserve policy makers last week said
they will maintain holdings of securities to prevent money from being
drained out of the financial system in a bid to keep borrowing costs
low and revive economic growth.
