A Word From Roger
As the year comes to an end and
the holidays are fast approaching I am always reminded of the
message of the holiday season that I believe is so important.
Whether you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or any other
holiday of choice it is important to reflect on what
is fundamental to all of these holidays; that
being kindness to all, giving to others, and appreciating all of
our blessings.
While this may seem cliché,
I would argue that it is not only important in my personal life, but
it is critical to our business. We are strictly a
service based company as we don't manufacture or build a defined
product. WHR's greatest asset is our people and the
service they provide to our clients. WHR offers kindness and
empathy to transferring employees as they go through a significant
life changing event. WHR's continuing promise to our clients
and their transferring employees is that service and satisfaction
will ALWAYS be our number one priority. WHR takes pride in
listening and adhering to Client's needs and building
relationships as people transition from one location to the
next. Simply put WHR views our services as an
extension of our Client's team and we must provide this as a true
partner and not simply a voice on the phone. Giving of our
time and energy to these critical employees is why WHR gets hired,
and if we fail to live up to these commitments will drive our
business model to a halt.
One aspect of my job that I
continually monitor is the survey comments we receive from
transferring employees. This transferee put in a nutshell what
WHR strives to accomplish with every transferring employee:
"I cannot say enough good
things about my Relocation Coordinator. He was very
professional and courteous and although he had a job to do, he made
me feel as though we were friends going through this process
together..." - Warren from Melbourne, FL
I would like to take this time
to thank each and every one of our clients, and also thank all of you
whose interest in our company and our services continue to help WHR
grow and evolve into a world-wide service-first relocation company.
As 2010 draws to a close, and a
New Year approaches, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday
season and best of luck for the upcoming New Year!
Best Regards,
Roger Thrun
President & Founder

Luring Employees to New
Locations
With
depressed home prices making workers reluctant to relocate, some
employers are adjusting their hiring strategies.
Some
are opening offices closer to workers, or giving hires more money to
cover home-sale losses. Others are letting people stay put and
telecommute, or focusing more on local recruits, figuring the lousy
job market should yield enough candidates.

www.realtor.org
The
National Association of REALTORS® surveys home buyers and sellers
annually to gather detailed information about the home buying and
selling process. These surveys provide information on buyer and
seller demographics, housing characteristics and the experience of
consumers in the housing market. Buyers and sellers also share
information on the role that real estate professionals play in home
sales transactions.
NAR's
Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers reports - based on results of
those surveys - provide real estate professionals with insights into
the needs and expectations of their clients. This year's data provide
valuable insight into how buyer and seller demographics have changed
based on shifting market conditions.

Commercial Investment Rise in Third Quarter
By George Ratiu
November, 2010
www.realtor.org
Amid
signs of uncertainty, economic activity continued its moderate growth
trend in the third quarter of this year. After posting growth rates
of 3.7 percent and 1.7 percent in the first and second quarters,
respectively, gross domestic product (GDP) rose 2.0 percent in the
third quarter. (Note: this is the first estimate of third quarter
2010 GDP growth; two revisions are expected later this year.) This
growth was spurred along by double-digit increases in business
spending, along with rising consumer expenditures.
Against this backdrop of a moderately recovering
economy, commercial real estate investments posted a significant jump
in sales during the third quarter - up 115.0 percent from the third
quarter of 2009. During the quarter, 1,158 major commercial
properties exchanged hands, with the dollar volume of sales totaling
$28.9 billion.

Economy Takes on a Rosier Glow
December 1, 2010
www.jsonline.com
By John Schmid
World stock markets rallied Wednesday amid signs that
the American recovery could be gaining traction - led partly by
factory output - and relief that Europe might be on the verge of
finding some much-needed leadership on its widening financial crisis.
"There is a subtle mood
shift," said Bob Atwell, chief executive at Nicolet National
Bank in Green Bay. Even as mortgage and banking businesses remain a
drag on the U.S. economy, "I sense a shift in psychology that's
more tilted to optimism than pessimism."

Transferees Speak
"Our Relocation Team has been amazing to work with.
They knew from the beginning I needed to find a house quick and helped
push through everything I needed to do it. Our Coordinator even helped
me through a really tough moment recently where I literally sat on the
phone and cried because I was so frustrated with the way the relocation
was going. I couldn't ask for two better people to be helping me
through this process."
Simon from
"I cannot say enough good things about my
Relocation Coordinator. He was very professional and courteous
and although he had a job to do, he made me feel as though we were
friends going through this process together. Never did I feel as
though I was being kept in the dark on anything. I will recommend
the process and my positive interactions with my Relocation Team to all
my fellow co-workers."
Warren from
Melbourne, FL
"Thank you for allowing us to participate in the
SimpleMove program. Assistance from the Coordinator was excellent
and the process was extremely efficient. We received our rebate
much faster than expected."
"I cannot say enough good things about my
Relocation Team. As you know, moving in general is a very
stressful time for anyone, especially in the times of the current
market. My Team was ALWAYS there to answer all my questions and
are definitely 'top notch'."
"My Relocation Coordinator and Associate were a
pleasure to work with. Very responsive. Very helpful in
explaining the process. I felt fortunate to have them on my
team."
Terri from
Collinsville, IL
"My Relocation Coordinator and Associate were very
helpful and knowledgeable and always cheerful. I also received
feedback from my Realtor that they were very thorough during their
review of the broker market analyses and appraisals."
Christian from
Palmdale, CA
"Good service in a difficult role delivering bad
news. Very responsive to questions and concerns throughout the
process. Great initiative in developing solutions to help in our
personal situation."
