A Word From Roger

RogerWith each passing month I continue to see improvements across all sectors of our business.  While the changes are not dramatic it is encouraging to see our lines of business moving in a positive direction.  I am extremely proud of our people and the commitment and dedication they have shown through this difficult economic period.  Every month I ask for a summation of our service evaluations. In particular I'm interested in the comments of the transferring employees.  Whenever I question our business model of being open 7 days a week, 12 hours on weekdays and 6 hours on the weekend, I have to look at the following comment and know we have it right:

"They (My Consulting team) were great and so was Sarah when I called after hours. I was most impressed that, with the time change, when I called at night, Sarah was able to help me vs. taking a message and me having to wait for a return call the next day. Their office really works seamlessly together."

My philosophy has always been that WHR will be available to transferring employees when they need us most, and getting this feedback and affirmation is a credit to our employees.  Statements like this and those that are similar are truly what make WHR the best in the relocation industry.

Best Regards,

Roger Thrun

President Obama signed an extension and expansion of the first-time homebuyers tax credit on Friday.

The $8,000 credit was scheduled to lapse on Dec. 1 but will now be in effect through the end of June. Homebuyers must sign a contract before April 30 and close by June 30. The income limits were also raised: Single buyers can now earn up to $125,000 and still get the full credit while a married couple can earn $225,000.

The bill also made more homeowners eligible to claim the credit on their taxes.

The bleeding in the housing market seems to be stanched, at least temporarily, according to home price data released on Tuesday.

Most U.S. cities saw gains in the median price of single-family homes sold during the three months ended Sept. 30, according to the National Association of Realtors' quarterly report on home prices. This is the second consecutive quarter of gains. More...

NEW YORK - The number of homeowners on the brink of losing their homes dipped in October, the third straight monthly decline, as foreclosure prevention programs helped more borrowers.

But foreclosure filings are still up 19 percent from a year ago, RealtyTrac Inc. said Thursday, and rising job losses continue to threaten the stabilizing trend. More...

[Sandra and Erin] have both been professional and available.  The fact that they were always there to answer my questions, and I never needed to wait overnight with a concern about the process was huge for me.  They exceeded all my expectations in that respect.

Ben was real helpful.  On a very regular basis, he was delivering bad news to me, but he did it in a very effective/empathetic way.

Probably the most positive relationship/process in my PCS [Permanent Change of Station].  I was not necessarily happy with the offer but extremely happy with the service and relationship of the WHR team.
